ORDINANCE NO. 3-1
Driveway and Culvert Ordinance
1.01 PURPOSE
In order lo promote the public safety. general welfare and convenience, it is necessary that certain requirements be
established and followed in the creation of new driveways, or work done on already existing driveways in the town of
Navarino
1.02 STATUTORY AUTHORITY
This ordinance is adopted as authorized under s 81 01 Wl Slats
1.03 ABROGATION AND GREATER RESTRICTIONS
It is not intended by this ordinance to repeal, abrogate, annul, impair or interfere with any rules, regulations
ordinances or permits previously adopted or issued pursuant to law. However, whenever (his ordinance imposes
greater restrictions, the provisions of this ordinance apply
1.04 SEVERABILITY
Should any portion of this ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the
remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected
1.05 APPLICABILITY
The requirements of this ordinance apply to all persons within the Town of Navarino
1.06 ADMINISTRATION
The provisions of this ordinance shall be administered by the Town Board of Navarino designee. Primary contact to
be the Town Chairman, if unavailable, either of {he two Supervisors are to be contacted for site inspection Request
would be acted upon at the next monthly meeting of the Board.
1.07 DRIVEWAYS
Before any driveways can be constructed either for new structures, existing structures or for access to Fields in the
Town of Navarino. approval must be granted by the Town Board of the Town of Navarino as to the placement of said
driveway Each driveway must have sufficient line of sight at its intersection with a public road so as to allow safe
entry or exit from (he road. Standard for a driveway being the most practical, safe entry upon the public highway.
1.08 CULVERTS
All culverts must be ;a minimum of !8” in width and 30 ft in length unless otherwise approved by the Town Board of
Navarino
1.09 EFFECTIVE DATE
The provisions of this ordinance shall take effect on July 10. 2001
